Our Approach
From the Ground Up
to the Legislature
Hamilton's housing crisis requires urgent, coordinated action from all levels of government. Hamilton is Home actively collaborates with municipal, provincial, and federal leaders to advocate for the needs of our community's most vulnerable residents. With a strong portfolio of projects already in development, our coalition is prepared to deliver solutions at the scale our government partners are seeking.
Municipal
Engaging with Hamilton City Council and staff working across the Housing Secretariat, Housing Services, Planning, and Real Estate departments to advocate for municipal land donations, expedited zoning and site plan review processes, and capital funding for local Hamilton projects.
Provincial
Engaging with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs & Housing and Ministry of Health, presenting at annual budget consultation sessions, and advocating for capital and operating funding towards the portfolio of local Hamilton projects.
Federal
Engaging with the Ministry of Housing, Infrastructure, and Communities Canada, Build Canada Homes, and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation to advocate for capital funding towards the portfolio of local Hamilton projects.
